Riho Västrik and Vello Park (Estonia)
This Maritime Forum will include a screening of Riho Västrik’s documentary Burden of Fire (Tulekahju paine). This will be followed by a conversation, where any participant can ask questions from Riho Västrik, the director, and Vello Park, the main character of the extreme story reflected in the film.
Riho Västrik is a director, scriptwriter and producer of documentary films. Vello Park is an Antarctic explorer, marine meteorologist, geographer and mountaineer, being the only Estonian who has wintered in Antarctica for four times. Largely thanks to him, the team at the Antarctic Vostok research station survived the panic situation after the fire of the station’s power plant.
