Secrets of the Baltic Sea: Myths or Facts?

  • Edutainment tour
  • At the Seaplane Harbour
  • For foreign student groups (teenagers) up to 20 participants
  • In English (recommended language level for participants at least B1)
  • Duration: 60-70 min

This experiential English-language program is intended for groups of school students visiting Estonia who want to get to know our historic museum building and see the  exposition of the Seaplane Harbour, while gaining new knowledge about the museum building, its star exhibits, and the Baltic Sea which has been playing an important role in the lives of Estonian people throughout the history.

We will go through different thematic areas in the museum’s exposition (the hangar’s history and the submarine Lembit, underwater archaeology, sea rescue, marine protection). In each area we will do one educational hands-on activity or have a discussion. We will talk about life in the Baltic Sea, environmental protection, as well as human history topics related to the Baltic Sea, for example, the Vikings.

At the end of the program, we will cross the highest point in the hangar – the arch bridge – which is usually closed to individual visitors. From there, one can have a wonderful and exciting view of the hangar.

After the program, participants will have the opportunity to explore the exposition on their own.
