On the Day of Restoration of Independence, which is celebrated as a public holiday on 20 August, you are welcome to visit our museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Both at Fat Margaret and the Seaplane Harbour, you will find many memories of the restoration of Estonian independence, as well as of the efforts that preceded and followed it. For example, on the third floor of the artillery tower, you can get an overview of how ships came to fly the flag of the newly independent Estonia and in what state Estonian shipping was in 31 years ago. At the Seaplane Harbour Marina, you can visit the icebreaker Suur Tõll, which became Estonia’s first state-owned ship after the restoration of independence, and in the Seaplane Hangar, you can see what we have achieved by now.
On this day, the Maru café in the Seaplane Harbour building will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Mini Maru harbour café will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The rooftop café Maru in Fat Margaret is open from 10 a.m. to midnight.
