For the sixth year in a row, the Estonian Maritime Museum invites alumni of higher education to apply for a financial prize. Applications are open until 19 January 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n Where previous years have focused on Estonian maritime history, this time the range of topics has been broadened.<\/p>\n \u201cThe competition is now also open to thesis completed at Estonian and foreign universities that deal more broadly with the maritime history of the Baltic Sea region,\u201d says Feliks Gornischeff, Researcher at the Estonian Maritime Museum. \u201cThis allows us to expand our international reach, which will hopefully increase the level of competition,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n The competition is open to Bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s students studying at higher education institutions in Estonia or abroad, whose theses were defended no more than two years ago.<\/p>\n The prize fund for the competition is 2,000 euros,<\/strong> divided between the best Master\u2019s thesis (1,000 euros), the best Bachelor\u2019s thesis (500 euros) and a special prize (500 euros).<\/p>\n The competition statue can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
