On November 28\u201329, 2024, the international hybrid conference “Arctic and Antarctic Science Cooperation in a Changing World”<\/em> took place at Kultuurikatel (Creative Hub) in Tallinn. Organized by the Estonian Polar Club in collaboration with the Estonian Maritime Museum, the event brought together 154 participants from 14 countries, including scientists, experts, and students. The conference also marked the 40th anniversary of the Estonian Polar Club, providing a special opportunity to reflect on the club\u2019s achievements and set future goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-day conference focused on environmental and societal changes in polar regions, highlighting their global impact. A total of 38 experts shared insights on Arctic and Antarctic research as well as future prospects for these regions. The program featured panel discussions and engaging presentations, emphasizing the role of young scientists and the importance of international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate the anniversary, a festive concert and gala dinner were held at Lennusadam, where participants also had the opportunity to explore the Maritime Museum\u2019s exhibitions and temporary displays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees described the conference as inspiring and insightful, helping to forge new plans and strengthen scientific networks.
