The Estonian Maritime Museum recognises alumni of higher education institutions whose thesis deals with the history of Estonian maritime affairs. The winners will also receive a financial award. The work must be submitted to the competition no later than 1 February 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2018There is still a lot to research in the history of Estonian maritime affairs. Students who do this need inspiration and deserve recognition. We have helped students for years by supervising their theses. From last year, we also offer the opportunity to win the prize of our museum,\u2019 said Urmas Dresen<\/strong>, the head of the Estonian Maritime Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The winners of the prize are announced during the annual competition for the best theses on maritime history. The prize fund is 2,000 euros. The results are announced by the Estonian Maritime Museum on the anniversary of its founding \u2013 on 23 February of each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2018This year, we expect bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, and diploma theses that have been defended at an Estonian or foreign university in the period from 15 January 2020 to 15 January 2022<\/a>. To participate, please send the text of the thesis together with your contacts and information about the university and the supervisor to the e-mail address info@meremuuseum.ee<\/a> no later than 1 February 2022,\u2019 explained Hele Kiimann<\/strong>, Head of Research of the Estonian Maritime Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The best of the submitted works are selected by an evaluation committee convened by our museum, which also includes our researchers. Last year, when the competition was held for the first time, special prizes were awarded to Maria Velikanova for her bachelor\u2019s thesis P\u00e4rnu Laev public limited company and the development of tourism in the Republic of Estonia<\/em> defended at Tallinn University and Artur Kaljurand for his thesis Engineers of the<\/em> Estonian Navy 1919\u20131940 <\/em>defended at the Estonian National Defence College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
